I grew up in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan playing hockey and lacrosse. When I was younger I injured my low back, which resulted in me seeking chiropractic care for my chronic pain. I became a regular patient of chiropractic ever since that moment. My mother worked for a chiropractor for most of my life. This chiropractor was one of my idols growing up due to the vast amounts of knowledge and the compassion he possessed. This was the true passion and compassion that I could only hope to embody in my future practices.
After high school, I pursued three years of a business degree from the University of Lethbridge. After working for a large accounting firm in Calgary I decided this was not the path I was destined to follow. I wanted to pursue a career where I was helping people first-hand. With much thought and consideration, I applied to and was accepted to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Ontario. I have made it my goal to educate myself and others on chiropractic and helping them to enhance their lives. I have a keen interest in helping a variety of people thrive through chiropractic care. I am passionate about inclusive care for everyone, no matter who you are or where you came from.
Certifications and Training
I spent many of my weekends during chiropractic school learning and educating myself in the various areas of manual therapy. I have a multitude of training in the following subjects: kinesiology/athletic taping, athletic/functional movement assessments, integrated patterning of movements, concussion management, applied kinesiology, soft tissue therapies, instrument-assisted therapies, Thompson Technique, Webster Technique, Gonstead Technique, Activator Technique, pediatric care, cranial assessment/adjusting, Orthotic assessment, and medical acupuncture.
Outside of the Office
I love animals, spending time in nature, working out at the gym, playing sports, traveling, spending time with my family and volunteering in the community. I am devoted to bettering my nutrition, meditation, and journal practices in addition to my physical health. I will try anything once, especially if it means it's good for my physical and mental health. I have provided chiropractic care at many sporting events as well as lead a regular exercise class at a retirement residence. I have been an advocate for under-serviced populations by providing chiropractic services at the People with AIDS Foundation in Toronto and HIV Community Link in Calgary. I have spent countless hours teaching my colleagues and teachers about the topics of HIV and AIDS. I hope to continue work with HIV services and educate people on HIV/AIDS. In addition, I have been mentoring youth dealing with addictions since his undergrad studies and volunteers regularly with treatment centers. I believe EVERYONE should have fair access to bettering their health.
